ATA Toy Trade Golf Day

On Tuesday the 30th of March, the Association hosted our first Toy Trade Golf Day in nearly 5 years and what an amazing day Melbourne put on for the event.

There was some hesitancy after so much rain and cold but the day turned out perfect for over 50 players who turned up for a round. A huge thank-you goes to all who were able to make it and to those who were affected by the current issues in QLD, we are sorry we missed you.

The day raised nearly $20,000 for FightMND and we want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters including The Walt Disney Company; Jasnor Australia; Moose Toys; Curlett, Cannon & Galbell; Heron Beverages; Woodlands Golf Club; Callaway; Spin Master and Ryan 'The Brickman' McNaught.

After 18 holes, the ATA held the presentations and we were honoured to be joined by Tony Oates and his wife Tori who are both managing with this disease which is affecting Tony's health but not his spirits.

The winning team for the day was the SGS & Zimbler Group consisting of Ray Hartland, Bob Miller, Glenn McLean and Sam Tuhan. For Golf enthusiasts, they came in with an overall score of 55.875.

The other winners for the day were:

  • Longest Drive – Chris Loverso from Big Balloon
  • Nearest the Pin – Russell Allen from Curlett Cannon & Galbell
  • Putting Competition – Guy Thompson from Big Balloon

And of course an encouragement award is given to the team that came in last and this year this was awarded to Geoff Morton, Christine Albers and David Jones of ARL as well as David Watson of Moose Toys.

Photo's were taken throughout the day and you can view them here.

Thank-you again to all who made this a fantastic event and day and we look forward to bringing this back again in 2022.
