2018 Toy Hobby & Licensing Fair


The 2018 Australian Toy Association (ATA) Toy Hobby and Licensing Fair kicked off on Sunday 4 March for four magical days with more than 6,000 retailers, exhibitors, media and visitors coming together at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for a carnival of trading, networking and celebrating.

The exhibition floor was completely sold out, with nearly 200 exhibitors showcasing their amazing wares in colourful and engaging stands.  The concourse was also filled with fantastic displays and installations from event sponsors, Mattel, The Walt Disney Company, Hasbro, Nickelodeon/Viacom and Funrise/Tonka, while the LIMA team ensured attendees were well caffeinated at the LIMA Lounge inside.

Over the four days Professional Public Relations (PPR) worked closely with the Australian Toy Association to manage the media relations and communications for the 2018 Toy Hobby and Licensing Fair which has grown in profile over years. Highlights of the media campaign included a colourful live cross with Channel 9’s Today Show, a national 7 News story and pre-event Herald Sun piece that featured the most exciting toys launching at the Fair. ATA Toy Fair Chairman David Hendy was also interviewed for 3AW and Gold FM.

The ATA also welcomed a range of YouTube influencers and bloggers who were eager to share their discoveries with their fans.

In total the campaign reached over 4.1 million people and gave them an inside look into our trade-only event.

By the time day 4 ended, everyone agreed that the 2018 Toy Hobby and Licensing Fair was one of the biggest and most successful Fairs ever. It could not have been done without the generous support of our sponsors Entertainment One, Nickelodeon/Viacom and Hasbro.

Sunday 3rd March - 9.00am to 5.00pm
Monday 4th March - 9.00am to 5.00pm
Tuesday 5th March - 9.00am to 5.00pm
Wednesday 6th March - 9.00am to 3.00pm  

This event is strictly for trade only. Those eligible for admission include retailers, wholesalers, buying groups, etc. Registrants must present business identification.

No one under the age of 13, including infants, will be admitted under any circumstance. Babies under the age of 1 year will be permitted if in a pram or suitable carry harness.
