ICTI

The Australian Toy Association is proudly a member of the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI).

Since 1975, the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) has served as the convening organization for the worldwide toy industry ICTI and its member trade associations are committed to championing the value of play; supporting the rights and well-being of factory workers; promoting responsible toy safety standards; reducing barriers to trade; and advancing social responsibility.

In 2025 and in light of the US and other international partners looking to renegotiate Tariff deals, Associations around the world agreed that our message is and will always be, that Toys are essential items and should therefore remain Tariff Free.

Global Toy Industry Statement—Keep Toys Tariff-Free

We, the undersigned members of the global toy industry, reaffirm our commitment to ensuring toys are tariff-free around the world, in accordance with the principles set forth in the 1994 Uruguay GATT and subsequent WTO rulings. Toys are “essential products” for children and ensure play, learning, and a healthy, happy childhood. #KeepToysTariff-Free
