2019 LIMA Australia Licensing Breakfast - Toy Hobby & Licensing Fair

Tuesday, March 5

On Tuesday March 5, LIMA together with their sponsors Cartoon Network, Showtime Attractions, STX, Merchantwise and of course the ATA, hosted the annual Licensing Breakfast where attendees were treated to a delicious breakfast and coffee before heading into the auditorium for an enlightening presentation on all things licensing.

In front of a sold-out audience, Tony Bugg, Managing Director at LIMA introduced the event before inviting Kenton Elliot, GM Marketing at Target to address the audience.

He provided insightful data-driven analysis of Target’s marketing journey towards becoming a quality-focused business and noted how the shopper experience is paramount for their target market of mums (both in-store and online). Kenton also maintained that licensing has a major role to play in the future of Target in both their retail and homewares departments.

Gisela Abrams, SVP Global Partnerships at LIMA - International then presented LIMA’s latest research on current licensing trends. She noted that Australia is currently ranked 12 in the world for
licensed sales with this figure expected to expand on the back of the growth in areas such as e-sports and experiential.

She also noted the continued growth of licenses across a gamut of consumer products beyond toys and fashion.

With great food, great speakers and abundant coffee, it was another successful LIMA Licensing Breakfast which is most definitely a fixture on the annual Australian Toy Hobby and Licensing Fair program.
